The OB-GYN Center in Greenville, SC has been providing CenteringPregnancy prenatal care since November 2008. We have a team of seven pairs of facilitators that start 3-4 groups per month. Centering Healthcare Institute first recognized us as a certified Centering site in January 2010. Our Centering model has been supported by the SC March of Dimes, and SC Department of Health and Human Services.
Dr. Amy Crockett, MD is the medical director of the Greenville Health System Obstetric Center and the Clinical Lead of the South Carolina Birth Outcomes Initiative. She is board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Dr. Crockett has research interests in outpatient obstetrics, prenatal diagnosis and racial disparities in birth outcomes. Sarah Covington-Kolb, MSW, MSPH is the coordinator of the statewide expansion of the CenteringPregnancy model of care in South Carolina. She has a master’s degree in both Social Work and Maternal-Child Health and leads the initiatives for both the process and outcome evaluation of the Centering Expansion Projects. Sarah has a long-standing interest in international maternal health – previous to finding herself in South Carolina, she lived and worked in Mexico, Denmark, New York City, and Africa.
